WAGO EEBUS Connector app for ctrlX OS
The open communication standard EEBUS enables the networking of relevant devices and systems in the field of energy management. The "WAGO EEBUS Connector" app offers a solution for seamless communication between network operators and energy management systems.
The goal is to display the data from local EEBUS devices (e.g., the control box) in the ctrlX Data Layer, thereby making all interfaces and data points of the grid connection point available for further processing. This enables a comprehensive energy management system for consumers and storage facilities. For example, in accordance with Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG), the grid operator can reduce the power consumption of systems during peak load times through grid-friendly control, thus contributing to the stabilization of the electricity grid.
The EEBUS protocol can be used for a wide range of applications around the grid connection point. It optimizes communication between consumers such as EV charging infrastructure, photovoltaic systems, and battery storage. In all application areas, control commands for limiting energy consumption and generation can be integrated and reported back to the grid connection point via the control box. The "WAGO EEBUS Connector" app supports efficient energy use and enables flexible energy concepts.

functions
Limitation of Power Production (LPP)
Enables the limitation of power generation with the option to specify a duration. This prevents overloads in the low-voltage distribution network by dynamically reducing the output of connected generation plants – directly or via a local energy management system – according to the received specifications.
Limitation of Power Consumption (LPC)
Allows limiting the power consumption of a building or individual devices, also with an optional time limit. This helps prevent overload situations in the low-voltage distribution network by dynamically reducing energy consumption – either directly at the connected devices or via a local energy management system. If an energy management system is in place, the limit applies to the building's total power demand; otherwise, it is applied to individual devices.
Monitoring of Power Consumption (MPC)
Enables the monitoring and visualization of the power consumption and/or power generation of devices in the local low-voltage distribution network. The energy management system can incorporate this data into its control algorithms and – when connected to a control box of the distribution system operator (DSO) – also transmit the consumption data of flexible loads to the DSO.
Monitoring of Grid Connection Point (MGCP)
Enables the transmission of measurement data from the grid connection point, such as voltage and frequency, as well as fed-in or drawn power, energy, or current. The energy management system can integrate the total power consumption into its control algorithms, perform consumption calculations, or visualize the data. Additionally, the grid operator can access the total power consumption via the control unit to identify bottlenecks or assess grid quality based on voltage and frequency data.
