ctrlX OS – PROFINET Device

This app activates the device interface for the PROFINET real-time Ethernet system and enables the ctrlX DRIVEplus with CORE option, as well as the ctrlX COREplus, to operate as a subsystem below a third-party PROFINET controller. The PROFINET device's data is available to all apps on the ctrlX CORE via the real-time data layer.

The PROFINET bus system is configured via the ctrlX CORE web interface. The PROFINET device app requires either the ctrlX DRIVEplus hardware with the CORE option or the ctrlX COREplus with the MultiEthernet hardware extension.

The PROFINET device app supports the following functions:

• Communication with the higher-level PROFINET network
• Configuration of the PROFINET device
• Administration of the PROFINET device
