ctrlX OS – Modbus TCP

Modbus is a data communication protocol that enables the exchange of data between a master and multiple slaves. It is a widely used communication protocol in automation technology and supports the connection of industrial electronic devices. Modbus can operate in parallel with Ethernet TCP/IP over the same physical interface. Data is transmitted via TCP/IP packets.

This Modbus TCP app allows the ctrlX CORE to connect to other third-party devices via Modbus TCP. No PLC is required for the app to operate. The data from the Modbus devices is directly available to all apps on the ctrlX CORE via the real-time data layer and can be read and written.

Modbus TCP is configured via the web interface and the data layer of the ctrlX CORE.

The Modbus app supports the following functions:

• Communication with the Modbus network
• Configuration of Modbus devices
• Administration of Modbus devices
• User permissions
